My writings…

My writings somewhat lack today. I would like to share some videos and photos from my trip to meet my nephew in Milwaukee for Harley-Davidson’s 115th anniversary. Enjoy and feel free to comment.

A moving story……

This is something that you do not see everyday………a house being moved down the street. I tired to get the 3 motorcycle officers in the video, but they kinda sped by. All you get is the sound as they ride, out of frame.

Day one – part two

Well……sorry about the last entry. I was tired and as I started my mind went numb on what to say.

Ok,as I said,it was a hot and Smokey ride. I did enjoy the light traffic and the sights. I did see a couple of roll over accidents. The kind of accidents you do not see everyday, let alone within 15 miles of each.

Stopped at a fast food restaurant. I noticed that the drive thru lane had retaining blocks. The lane is right next to a cliff and the gouges in the pavement shows that rocks have fallen. Were any cars hit?

I was suppose to stay at a motel Idaho, but due road construction, I missed my exit. So…….I stayed in Missoula (home of the UM Grizzlies) went for a walk and found this little gem

Day one

This day was very hot (>90) and smoke filled! Forest fires….

Sometimes on a motorcycle trip you will become “one” with the bike. At times it can take hours and many miles. For me today, it happened very quickly. Everything flowed:gas stops, pee breaks, food stops…..

The Columbia River Gouge was beautiful

On the road-again

Headed toward the Midwest for fun and excitement! Very smokey and hazy! It was a great morning to start the trip. Light traffic, cooler temps and the open road…….

Just another Saturday

Sharing some pix of a “Luau” the local motorcycle dealer was throwing. The weather had been in the 90s for like forever, but this day, cooler temps,a little rain. The weather was just about perfect to enjoy a beer, listen to some blues, and great roasted pig.

Work of art

Saw this at the local art museum,a one-of-a kind motorcycle. This style was to show aerodynamics along with a nod to the Art-Deco (1930s)style of the times.

I like the chrome gas tank and the flowing rear fender. The carburetor(s) are linked directly to the cylinder head along with the air intakes. The carbs still directly above where the riders foot would be placed.

Concept bike

BMW concept motorcycle. Showing the stream line design of the Art Deco era. Such style that this motorcycle is in an art museum.

Cross Country….sorta

Getting ready to head to SD to visit family………..will be stopping in Milwaukee during Labor Day weekend for the 115th anniversary of Harley Davidson.

December 17

OK it’s somewhere between Christmas and New Years-partly sunny, temps around 45 degrees.

Wow- after a couple of weeks of cold, wet, icy and plain yucky days,we finally caught a break! I got a very nice pair of winter riding gloves from my wife! She knew exactly what I needed!

The ride was nothing more than down to the Harley dealer, filled up with gas,a stop at the coffee shop and back home. Small ride, big smile!

Peace
